A snowboard to change the world :)

If ever you were wanting to get a super sweet custom-designed (sort of.. read on!) brand-new snowboard... make it this one! :)

A friend of mine, Rachael, read about the story of San Francisco, Guatemala I shared on my blog a little while back. She & her husband Lance wanted to help in in some way... Lance happens to have a knack for creativity and is an awesome graphic designer (that designed Mt Seymour's website a couple years ago! :)). Anyhow, Lance's company Cowie & Fox designed the graphics on this board, and Lance got to keep it.

How does this have anything to do with Guatemala? I just got a lovely report with some photos in my inbox yesterday; we've been working with the community over the last few months to help the families develop their land for agriculture. Meanwhile, families are still suffering without food. We've distributed a second round of emergency food supplies (corn, beans, rice) just a few weeks ago on the 20th of April.

But this will be the last food distribution. We're still hoping to do something more substantial for this community... addressing some of the deeper needs, for water and land.

So Rach & Lance decided to part with this brand new snowboard.... selling it instead to raise some much-needed funds for the families in this community.

The question is... do you want it?? :)

Already, there are few things more refreshing and life restoring for me than spending a day atop a mountain blanketed in white fluffy snow, all crystal and sparkly in the sun with a board strapped under my feet. If you already ride, you know what I mean! :) (If you don't - let me teach you!) It's so good. But wouldn't this make it the best thing ever?? ALL that, on a snowboard that brings hope amidst suffering and injustice to this beautiful little community in Guatemala?? Amazing! :)

A couple more pics of the real thing & close ups of the graphics. (other pictures on FB here!)

Who knew that snowboards could change the world? Well, every time I am loving life on the slopes I'm pretty convinced anyhow. But here's one that hopefully will make you smile all the more from inside out while indulging in the fun & blessing of playing in snow!! :)

Sapient Coast 159. If you want it, let me know! 778-885-2398 or email Rachael directly at rachaelmcummings@yahoo.ca or find her on Facebook if you know her! :)

Thanks Rach & Lance for your generous hearts!!

xoxo
